Insurance, payment and cancellations

Will my insurance cover sessions?

Sessions with Ruth, a Registered Clinical Counsellor, come with a detailed receipt you can submit to your extended health plan. Check your plan for “Registered Clinical Counsellor” specifically, since some plans list only psychologists or ask for a doctor’s referral. We do not bill insurers directly. For associate counsellors, coverage depends on their registration, so please ask. RUCC Collective sessions with interns are usually not covered.

Is the practice an FNHA provider?

Yes. Ruth is an approved First Nations Health Authority Benefits mental health provider (#10423-1).

How do I pay?

By Interac e-Transfer.

What if I need to cancel?

Please give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less notice, and missed appointments, are charged at the full rate.

What about clinical supervision, Brainspotting consultation or IRCAs?

Fees for professional services are discussed on a free 20-minute call. See clinical supervision, Brainspotting consultation and Impact of Race and Culture Assessments.

Not sure which option fits?

Tell us a little about what is going on and what you can afford, and we will suggest the best fit, with no obligation.
