Brainspotting Consultation
As an Approved Brainspotting Consultant, I offer individual consultation to Brainspotting-trained therapists who are committed to practicing in ways that honour the full complexity of their clients' lives, including the weight of race, culture, identity, and systemic harm.
Brainspotting is a body-based modality that works at the level of the nervous system, accessing what has been stored in the body beneath language and conscious awareness. For clients from racialized, marginalized, and historically oppressed communities, this matters deeply. Trauma is not only personal; it is relational, cultural, and systemic. The body carries the impact of racism, colonization, intergenerational loss, and cultural rupture in ways that traditional talk-based approaches often cannot fully reach. Brainspotting, when held within a culturally attuned and anti-oppressive relational frame, offers a pathway to healing that respects the whole person, including who they are, where they come from, and what they have survived.
As a first-generation Nigerian Canadian clinician with over fifteen years of practice in the Lower Mainland, I have built my work at the intersection of body-based healing and social justice. My approach is rooted in decolonial and anti-oppressive frameworks, and I bring this orientation into every aspect of consultation. I support therapists in examining not only their clinical technique but also the cultural assumptions, power dynamics, and relational patterns that shape the therapeutic space itself.
What to Expect in Consultation
Consultation with me is a space where your clinical questions, your uncertainties, and your own positionality as a therapist are all welcome. We will explore how you are using Brainspotting with your clients, how you are tracking the client's process somatically and relationally, and how you are attending to the cultural and systemic dimensions of your clients' trauma. I am particularly attuned to supporting therapists who are:
Working with clients from racialized, Indigenous, or immigrant communities who are navigating the embodied impact of racism, colonization, cultural displacement, or intergenerational trauma. Wanting to deepen their capacity to hold the intersections of identity, oppression, and healing within their Brainspotting practice. Examining their own cultural humility, racial identity development, and the ways power and privilege show up in the therapeutic relationship. Seeking a consultant who will engage with social justice not as an add-on to clinical work, but as central to it.
Certification Eligibility
Consultation with me counts toward the official Brainspotting certification requirements as recognized by Brainspotting Trainings, LLC. To be eligible for certification, therapists must have completed Phase 1, Phase 2, and one Advanced Training of their choice (Master Class, Phase 3, Phase 4, or Phase 5), document 50 Brainspotting sessions using the official session tracking form; and complete a minimum of 6 hours of consultation with the same Approved Brainspotting Consultant. Please note that only up to 2 hours completed prior to finishing Phase 2 may count toward the required 6. All certification requirements must be completed within 2 years of finishing the final required course.
Therapists at any stage of Brainspotting training are welcome, whether or not you are working toward certification.
Individual consultation sessions are offered on an ongoing or as-needed basis. Fees are discussed during a complimentary 20-minute consultation call. To book your consultation call, use the button below.
